We live in a 150 year old Victorian Coach House, which is all electric for heating, light, cooking and hot water. Consequently, our electric bills over the last 10 years have been increasing dramatically, given that prices never really come down, our goal was to find a system which would end up being cost neutral, with capital pay back in a reasonable period and future proof against price increases. After much research, we settled on speaking to Solar EV North. Kristen did the survey, which was paramount into discuss equipment location, cable routes, roof fixings etc before we would commit to any form of contract. The proposal put forward met our needs and the install took place over 4 days in July . Steve, Mick and Chris from Solar EV North, were just great very professional and the install has been completed to an excellent standard, with cable routes all very discrete, mainly through the loft space with nothing showing on the roof. We are very please with the system, which allows us to increase battery storage from 24kw up to 48 Kw with minimal disruption. The Goodwe equipment is all in one, with battery back up for power cuts, and is very compact compared to other systems. The equipment guarantees offered are excellent.

Very impressed with Solar EV North so far. After speaking to several solar companies, we found the amount of information and variation in quotes quite overwhelming. Kristen and the team stood out because they were much less salesy and took a more customer-focussed approach. They gave us confidence in both the proposed system and their ability to deal with our fairly challenging wiring setup. We also liked that they were local. Once the grid approval came through, we had an installation date far quicker than we expected. The installation team were professional, knowledgeable and tidy, taking care to keep the new wiring and distribution board as neat and compact as possible in our small understairs cupboard while preserving storage space. They were also happy to answer our many questions throughout the process.The only slight disappointment was that we couldn't fit as many panels on our roof as quoted. The aftercare has been excellent. Although the scaffolders caused some damage to a section of roof, it was all fixed by Solar EV North's roofer within a couple of days. We sent loads of questions via Whatsapp over the weekend immediately after installation and Kristen answered all of them incredibly promptly, going above and beyond to work with us. His passion for the company and keeping his customers happy really comes across. Overall, we're delighted with the system and the service we've received and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. We're currently waiting for a small wiring modification to ensure the house battery can't be used to charge our PHEV, which gives you a bit more flex about when you charge your car. If you have an EV charger, it's worth discussing this aspect of the setup in advance.

We’ve had our solar system up and running now for 4 weeks now. Everything is working well, installation was very smooth no problems. The team are very professional couldn’t be happier with the full service from start to finish and Kristen and Zola are always on hand for any questions you may have. Just had our quite large system (35 panels, 10kw inverter and 24kw battery) installed by Solar EV North. Kristen and the lads we all brilliant and very polite, they done a fantastic job. Very neat, tidy and efficient. Scaffolding up Friday, system fitted Mon/Tues and scaffolding back down Wednesday. Would highly recommend!!

I recently had a solar PV and battery system installed by Solar EV North Ltd and overall I’m very happy with the experience. The installation went smoothly and the team were professional, friendly and clearly knew what they were doing. Everything was installed neatly and the system was properly explained after commissioning. They were also very accommodating during the planning stage. I requested a 6kW inverter and they had no issue installing it, which gives the system more flexibility for future expansion. Another thing I really appreciated was their flexibility with the payment. Although they don’t normally offer credit card payments, they went out of their way to organise an online credit card payment option, which allowed me to have Section 75 protection. This was very helpful and showed they were willing to work with the customer. We did have an issue with the battery shortly after installation as it wasn’t charging properly. However, the company handled it very well. They quickly diagnosed the problem and arranged a brand new replacement battery directly from the manufacturer, which solved the issue. Since then the system has been working perfectly and I’m already seeing excellent solar production and very low grid usage. The monitoring app makes it easy to track generation, battery levels and household consumption. What impressed me most was how the company dealt with the problem — things can occasionally go wrong with any installation, but the important thing is how it’s handled. In this case it was sorted quickly and professionally. Overall a great experience and I would happily recommend Solar EV North Ltd to anyone considering solar panels and battery storage.
